Uptown
Uptown
Inspired by the soothing sweet scent of the fooderies on Argyle, with notes of mandarin, mango, and white tea.
Located 6 miles north of the Loop, Uptown was once known as “the Loop’s little brother.” Though sparsely populated through the 1800s, Uptown boomed in the early 1900s to become a hub of entertainment and shopping. The Green Mill, Aragon Ballroom, Riviera Theatre, and Uptown Theatre all attracted chic crowds. Following the Depression and extension of Lake Shore Drive, Uptown evolved to welcome more diversity, including the Chinese entrepreneurs and later Vietnamese refugees that inspire today’s Asia on Argyle and Argyle Night Market. This evolution made Uptown one of Chicago's most culturally vibrant neighborhoods.
