Northalsted, formerly known as Boystown, is often called “Chicago’s Proudest Neighborhood.” Known as the oldest officially recognized gay neighborhood in the country, Northalsted continues to be one of the most inclusive communities in the city. Over the years, the LGBTQ+ community has invested in the neighborhood and attracted new residents, and every June it hosts the Chicago Pride Parade, one of the largest pride gatherings in America.
