Chinatown
Chinatown
Inspired by the scent of lychee fruit in the markets of Chinatown, with notes of lychee, red tea, and lily.
Stepping through the ornate Friendship Gate transports you to the cultural and gastronomic enclave of Chinatown. Nestled between Pilsen and the Motor Row District, Chinatown has stood in this southside location since 1912. After more than a century of change, the neighborhood has remained remarkably vibrant. It is the only major Chinatown expanding today and may soon become the first majority Asian Ward in Chicago. That vibrance draws people from around the world, appropriately captured in the gate’s inscription, “Everything under the heaven, for the people”.
