Chicago Awakening
Chicago Awakening
Inspired by the signature blooms of magnolia, tulip, and lilac, with notes of blossom, jasmine, and fig.
Each spring, Chicago awakens with a progression of blooms that has shaped the city’s seasonal identity for more than a century. In March, magnolias from the early 1900s still open along the Gold Coast and Near North Side. In April, the city’s iconic tulips (more than 700,000 bulbs are planted each fall) wash the streets, parks, and medians in color. Come May, fragrant crabapple and lilac plantings fill neighborhoods across the city with their signature spring scent. Together, these blooms usher in the return of Chicago’s brilliant, bustling outdoor life.
