Inspired by the cherry orchard upon which Andersonville was built, with notes of cherry blossom, rose, and magnolia.
Fittingly situated at the northern edge of Chicago, Andersonville is the center of nordic culture in the city. Named in honor of the common Swedish family name, Anderson, the neighborhood in the late 19th century was primarily populated by Swedish immigrants. They congregated in the area north of Foster and east of Clark, previously home to a cherry orchard. Today, historic architecture, microbreweries, and small local businesses dot the neighborhood.
